My freshman year I was lucky enough to be a member of the Ranger Challenge Team from the Colorado School of Mines. Ranger Challenge
is the varsity sport of Army ROTC and involves a number of skills and team based events. So many of us on the team enjoyed it that
the next year we tried to do it again, but weren't allowed to field a team. So we created the Ranger Club and had our own fun. This
was our big event in the Fall semester. We planned and executed (not very well on either count given our lack of experience) a trip
to Grand Lake, CO and Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park. While there we did a ruck march and a small reconnaissance of a popular tourist spot.
The trick was to not be seen by anyone on the main trails, but I think we wound up scaring a few trailwalkers anyway.
