Pyramid Peak is in the Elk Range near Aspen and Snowmass in Western Colorado. It is very close to the Maroon Bells, which are known
around the world for their distinctive shape and silhouette, and also close to Castle Peak and Capitol Peak. Duncan and I spent the
night near the Maroon Lake Trailhead and spent all of the next day climbing. Pyramid is what I always imagined climbing mountains to
be like. It was a difficult, rocky trail with a lot of upclimbing and route-finding. We didn't need to use any ropes, but we did find
ourselves climbing straight up for small stretches pretty often. It was worth every bit of effort. Read the full story in my Adventures
