On 11-Nov-2006 Duncan, our friends Ryan and Matt, and myself went out to Fulford Cave about 10 miles south of Eagle, CO for our first caving experience. We were not "spelunking," as we learned that spelunking connotes a certain disregard and carelessness about the general shape that the cave is left in after your visit. Our group being composed of at least one professional geologist and three other nature-conscious individuals, we made sure that our trip through the cave left as little impact as possible. One thing that can be said of this experience is that we learned that caves are really...well, dark. But with proper illumination and equipment being below the mountain was every bit as breathtaking and exciting as being on the top of one. Some of the pictures are fuzzy due to the dust that gets stirred up by our passing, but I hope you enjoy these shots nonetheless.
